The plush tents feature a kitchenette, ensuite bathroom and a king-sized bed crowned by a skylight for easy stargazing throughout the night. The emu shape formed by the dark spaces of the Milky Way has been used by the Kamilaroi people, the traditional custodians of Lake Keepit, to navigate for millennia. It’s just one of the tales you’ll hear as Kamilaroi man and Aboriginal cultural tours operator Uncle Len Waters narrates the history of First Nations astronomy over a Big Sky cinematic experience shared with other guests. The outdoor seating area of the property’s Gilay Lounge provides the ideal vantage point to admire the splendid night sky, and for a closer look, there are two celestial telescopes at your disposal.

Get hands on at nearby Carroll Gap Farmhouse and spend the day immersed in the art of cooking. Your journey starts with a garden tour to gather fresh fruit, vegetables, and herbs straight from the soil, followed by a morning tea of freshly-baked cake and espresso coffee. Learn techniques from expert instructors as they guide you through preparing a gourmet lunch using seasonal produce. Whether you prefer to watch and absorb or roll up your sleeves and get involved, this experience is tailored to your pace.
