Functional and restrained, with simple tones of cloud grey and white, the highlight of rooms here is the fluffy king Sweet Dreams® bed, especially when it looks towards the greenery of the city’s leafy Bicentennial Park. The hotel’s suites are another story, with multi-level layouts; the King Executive Suite with Harbour View Terrace is impressive in its scale, with room for three and an enormous rooftop verandah that looks to the city’s ocean edges.
Restaurants and bars
The hotel’s on-site Aqua serves a diverse range of cuisine from breakfast to dinner, with menu options spanning risotto to fish (and classic hotel fare such as pizzas in between).
Travel for work
There’s a huge 908 square metres of on-site space dedicated to events, with six meeting room sizes to choose from. Although rooms have space dedicated to remote working, wi-fi disappointingly attracts an additional charge.
Gym and pool
The pool feels like the hotel’s heart and hub, especially during warmer Top End days. It backs onto the restaurant and is fringed by sun loungers and a lush little garden of towering palms.
