Why does every meal you eat outside taste infinitely more delicious? You’re about to find out at Smorgasburg, the weekly outdoor food festival featuring 100 vendors of Brooklyn’s finest artisanal treats. We’re talking everything from a wok shop and chicken wings to pupusas and grilled cheese. Block out Saturdays from 11am to 6pm for pure gluttony set against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. Smorgasburg was founded in 2011 by the creators of the Brooklyn Flea market, also a necessary stop if you’re in the market for a vintage Eames chair or local, handmade goods (open summer Saturdays in Fort Greene and Sundays in Williamsburg).

Location

As one of Brooklyn’s most popular (and hip) neighbourhoods, Williamsburg might hold the title to most artisanal purveyors and bars per square block. As a trendy area for nightlife, this walkable neighbourhood is easily accessible by the subway’s L train.
