Travelling to the Peruvian capital? Here’s where to check in.

Hotel B

If Hotel B were a person, she would be chic, dressed in vintage and carrying an art portfolio. The high ceilings, lush floral arrangements, courtyard dining room, cosy library and elegant bar and restaurant of this architect-renovated Belle Époque-style mansion alone justify its ranking as one of the best hotels in Lima. Then there’s the rich collection of contemporary Peruvian art displayed throughout the hotel and in the 17 individually decorated suites, the glass of Champagne on arrival and its perfect location on a quiet corner of Barranco, Lima’s most happening district.

The Westin Lima Hotel & Convention Center

For stylish, five-star luxury with all the amenities including a beautiful indoor heated pool with natural lighting, spa, and a business centre offering professional translation and secretarial services, you can’t go past the Westin. Located in the financial district of San Isidro, the hotel is a short hop from shops, embassies, galleries and restaurants. Dine in-house at the internationally acclaimed Maras restaurant, where chef Rafael Piqueras serves up an acclaimed fusion menu based on the tastes of Peru’s coast, highlands and jungle presented in a truly original way: think black angus short ribs served on a cow’s hip bone or dessert truffles in a box crafted from soft, chocolate-coloured leather.

Belmond Miraflores Park

One of the most luxurious views of Lima’s Costa Verde must be from the infinity heated pool on the rooftop of the Belmond Miraflores Park. Consistently rated one of Lima’s best hotels, the 89-room Belmond, which is fringed by parkland on three sides, offers morning yoga classes, private tours of museums and of the famous Surquillo food markets as well as cooking classes. The hotel provides bicycles to guests at no cost – and there’s even a free cinema on the second floor for kids.

Country Club Lima Hotel

This grand historic building with its magnificent colonnaded façade is an official Peruvian Cultural Monument. It showcases a remarkable collection of colonial furniture and artwork in both the common areas and guest rooms and boasts an award-winning restaurant, the Perroquet. If the 83 rooms and suites exude an air of classic sophistication, they also come with contemporary conveniences such as iPod docks. Located in an upscale residential area of San Isidro, it is the only hotel in Lima offering guests access to a golf course.

Hotel Antigua Miraflores

The Antigua is a converted casona, a Spanish colonial-style mansion. It has preserved many of its original features including tiled floors, chandeliers and woodwork. Its friendly bar serves up pisco sours (Peru’s national cocktail) made from 20 different types of infused pisco and its restaurant offers reasonably-priced Peruvian cuisine along with cooking classes. Although amenities are basic, Antigua consistently rates with travellers as one of Lima’s best moderate-priced hotels for the warmth of its staff and service.
