Choices for reclining include daybed-dotted private decks, treatment tables at the rejuvenating spa and sun loungers set around the over 100-square-metre lagoon-style pool. Fiji Marriott occupies hectares of bliss on Momi Bay, an unspoilt stretch of pristine sands and azure-blue water along the west coast of mainland Fiji. Nadi International Airport is less than an hour away by car.

What’s near Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay?

Plenty… but you might find that you don’t actually want to go anywhere. For avid surfers, there is a reason to leave: Cloudbreak, a world-class surf spot, is a mere 25 minutes away. The Namotu long boat will take you out to Namotu Island, where you’ll find the famous break.

There are also several dive sites on your doorstep, as well as stand-up paddle board, kayak and snorkelling equipment available to hire.

Room types

All rooms at the resort offer an outlook of either the lagoon, ocean or pool but for panoramic water views, you’ll find it hard to go past the over-water bures, the traditional Fijian bungalows set directly over the sparkling lagoon. The bures, with their vaulted ceilings, private decking, free-standing bathtubs and espresso machines, are adults-only, making them a perfect option for honeymooners or guests looking for something extra special. Some of the Lagoon Front and Lagoon View rooms are interconnected, which suit families or those travelling as part of a group.

Restaurants and bars

If the plan is to stay put, you’re in luck. Fish Bar serves up freshly caught seafood alongside sensational views across Momi Bay. Settle in for the night on the terrace and enjoy a Pacific lobster roll and a cold glass of chablis.

Goji Kitchen & Bar features an all-day buffet, live cooking stations and Fijian-Indian cuisine (the fish curry is exceptional). For daytime refreshments, swim up to the poolside bar at Lagoon House and sip on a Bula cocktail. Inside, there’s an array of tasty Mediterranean cuisine available, such as pizzas and pastas.

Travel for work

With all rooms featuring a desk and free wi-fi, everything you need to knuckle down and work is here. (Whether you actually manage to is another matter entirely.) If you really do mean business though, there are meeting rooms with high-speed wi-fi, event spaces, computer and copying services on the property.

Pool, gym and spa

There are three different pools to choose from: the adults-only infinity pool is undoubtedly the perfect spot to watch the sun dip below the horizon, the main pool features a swim-up bar and the kids’ pool features fun jets and water guns. The gym, open 24/7, comes equipped with cardiovascular machines, free weights and an outdoor weight bar. But perhaps you would prefer to spoil yourself with a Duavata Four Hands Massage at Quan Spa instead? This is where two therapists work on you simultaneously for the ultimate in relaxation. Book the couples’ treatment room and you’ll be treated to a private plunge pool and shower.

What you need to know

The Turtles Kids’ Club caters for children aged between four and 12 – it’s open daily and is complimentary. 

The resort’s newest activities are geared towards securing quality family time. Two standouts are the private family picnics in the shade of a palm to the north of the resort or, for those with later bedtimes (or energy to burn!), a unique stargazing experience. The former, which takes place after sundown in a clear, inflatable bubble stationed in a private area of the resort, is accompanied by abundant baskets of sandwiches, cakes, fresh salads and a bottle of sparkling while the latter includes desserts, popcorn and a choice of Champagne, prosecco or soft drinks for the littlies. It's like a little camping trip... but with a way cooler tent.
